A couple, a kiss, a bed, a tear, a candy … all ways of speaking of love, sensuality, sexuality, passion.
Throughout the ages, artists have found inspiration in the desire and turmoil that comes with ardent love. Emporte-moi / Sweep me off my feet addresses the value of emotion in contemporary art through works by artists including Andy Warhol, Pierre and Gilles, Félix Gonzalez-Torres,Kevin Francis Gray and Jana Sterbak. Each piece, in its own way, evokes love’s power to enthral and destroy.
This international exhibition includes photographs, videos, sculptures, sound works and installations produced since the mid-1960s.
THE EXHIBITION IS PRODUCED IN COOPERATION WITH THE MUSÉE D’ART CONTEMPORAIN DU VAL-DE-MARNE (MAC/VAL) AND WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY A BILINGUAL CATALOGUE.
